ReplyDeleteWellington airport in New Zealand has a similar effect, though the airport is raised, and there are only huge rocks on the seafront (so no sunbathers!) but there's a road either end... Stops larger airliners from landing there because if they overshoot the end of the runway, they'd either end up in the sea or in traffic.
