One Leg Leads to Another

LINK quote [The human leg has evolved continually over many eons, adapting from an underwater propeller to its current form. But on book covers and on film and theater posters, the leg has evolved very little. In fact, the “A-Frame,” a cutoff-torso-spread-leg framing device, is the most frequently copied trope ever used].

Tom Brinkmann's Bad Mags

LINK quote [Beyond that Bad Mags is a book devoted to strange, bizarre and peripheral magazines because the back alleys of the publishing industry have been little explored in print. In most cases there isn't any information readily available, limited only to the information given in the periodical itself].

Girls & Corpses

LINK quote [Hell-o and welcome to the unearthing of GIRLS AND CORPSES -- "the world's first comedy magazine about death." You know you've been thinking about it... dreaming about it... well now, here it finally is! Why Girls and Corpses, you ask? Well, if you're like me, you like two things, beautiful girls and rotting corpses. So, I thought, why not bring these two great tastes together in one magazine? Girls & Corpses is sort of like Maxim Magazine meets Dawn Of The Dead. There are pictures in each issue of beautiful, scantily clad young beauties posing with hideous, decaying, festering corpses. Also, we have interviews, comic book art, music and movie reviews and other mayhem. What could be better?].

Oh, Wicked Wanda!

LINK quote [Oh, Wicked Wanda! (OWW) is an erotic illustrated comic that ran in the back pages of Penthouse magazine from 1973 through 1980. Each issue of OWW contained up to eight pages of full-color cheesecake art combined with carefully written sexual escapades and political satire. Though the content of OWW was definitely a tribute to its own era, it remains interesting to readers today. This may be due in part to the serial comic's focus on two lovely women who were remarkably independent for the time the comic was written].

Vampirella Comics

LINK quote [Within these pages dwells Vampirella—the comic book, that is. To be exact, reproductions of as many covers of comic books featuring her as we've been able to lay our hands on. I say "we" because my wife and I love all things vampire. Sometimes I'm not so certain she likes Vampirella as much as I do. I can't imagine why not. Anyway, we've been collecting Vampirella for a long time now. With all the variant covers and foreign editions* around, it gets pretty hard to keep track of what we have and what we want. Add to that signed editions and... well, you can never have enough Vampirella].

Submit your photos to 180 Magazine

LINK Everyone is welcome at 180 Magazine: "I'd like to extend an invitation to you and your photography blog readers to submit their photographic comments on the topic of "Nude/Naked". We would like two photographs from each photographer, one illustrating each word in the topic, and a paragraph explaining their position".
quote [While 180 magazine usually presents the work of invited photographers in each issue, we are happy to look at the work of new photographers who have a distinctive vision, and established photographers who have intensely personal work that they would like to share].

Richardson Magazine

LINK quote [It's nice to know that there are people out there making porn that doesn't look like shit. I know that this sort of thing could never go mainstream because no one is getting skull-fucked or even deep-throated, but it is good to see that it exists. In the end, Richardson Magazine is caviar while Max Hardcore is a Big Mac].
