Google Maps in 8-Bit April Fools

If you were a fan of the Dragon Warrior series on the NES, then you’re going to absolutely love the April Fools prank from Google this year: 8-Bit Google Maps! Click on the "quest" button in the upper right corner of the map to get your current world dressed up in 8-bit fashion. Also, be sure to drag your little character out onto the map and choose Street View for more retro goodness. Be sure to browse the maps, it's full of hidden creatures (Area 51, Everest, Google headquarters...). According to Google, this Dragon Quest spoof version of Maps will come in the form of a special NES cartridge that can connect to the internet via dial-up. Naturally, there's no word on a release date, but you can currently check out the "beta" by visiting Google Maps in your browser and selecting "Start Your Quest." That said, that company warns that "your system may not meet the minimum requirements for 8-bit computations".

Bad news today!
I suppose it will be the end of Unscathed Corpse. Since it's not a "money blog"... no banners, ads etc... I can't pay for hosting etc... and I will have no time to devote to a migration and organize a new website. 12 years !! it was fun while it lasted.... "Google hates sex". (More at ZDNet by Violet Blue).

"Horse Boy" reappears on Google Street View

The mysterious Google Street View 'Horse Boy' has reappeared on the streets of Aberdeen, after a short, unexplained disappearance.
The original HorseBoy, a man in a purple jumper and a rubber horse's head mask, was spotted on Google Street View on Hardgate in Aberdeen (PHOTO HorseBoy 1). He has appeared separately, now in a green jumper and with a human-headed schoolgirl companion (PHOTO HorseBoy 2), on Hazlemere Road in the same city. (Unfortunately Google seems to have removed the images of horse-boy from Street View...), and the prakster probably found a mask at Creepy Horse Mask.
