The New Erotic: A Porn Revolution

Ultra slo-mo videos from Make Faire
quote [Last weekend 3ric and Nathan Pegram attended Maker Faire down in the Bay Area. While there, they did live demos with the Phantom camera and gave a talk about shooting mosquitoes with lasers. We conducted some pure hackery in order to make these videos. The first key part was having a "Nanoflash SDI recorder". This standalone recorder can do real-time compression of 1080p content onto compact flash. In order to film and export video at a fast rate, we needed some other method than our typical "wait 15 minutes for gigabit ethernet" process. So we wired up this recorder to the Phantom, along with a linksys WRT54G access point running rogue firmware].

quote [In the summer of 1902 Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin (1876 - 1942) the well known artist, stage designer and illustrator of Russian Folk Tales travelled to the Vologda Province in the North of Russia. As well as collecting and studying the local folk art he drew and photographed the wooden architecture. Many of the photographs taken on these trips were used as illustrations in Bilibin's article of 1904 in the World of Art Magazine entitled Folk Art of the Russian North. Seeing these beautiful postcards inspired Richard Davies to travel to the Russian North in 2002 to find out which churches had survived].

quote [The Guatemala sink hole has become an Internet sensation since the weekend. However, the sink hole is also part of a national tragedy, after the country was hit by a tropical storm. It was one thing to have almost 100
people killed by the past weekend's storm, and to have a major rebuilding process ahead from that. But having this giant crater form is something else, as it still looks like something so unrealistic that it had to have been Photoshopped. However, the Guatemala sink hole is very real, and also very mysterious].
