Milo Moiré arrested in London Mirror Box Performance

quote [Well-established Swiss performance artist Milo Moiré has been arrested in London after allowing strangers to stroke her genitals for her latest performance piece. The project, titled “Mirror Box”, saw the artist walk around various European cities with a large reflective structure covering her body. Using a megaphone to attract attention, she would then invite strangers to stick their hands in the box, and fondle either her breasts or vagina for a 30-second period

Milo Moiré’s performance “Mirror Box” is a societal reflection of human sexuality. It's a expanded reenactment of the “Tap and Touch Cinema” (1968) and a homage to the Austrian artist VALIE EXPORT, who was already fighting for women’s rights in the 1960s through artistic actions. Artist Milo Moiré utilises her body as an instrument, even as a weapon, in order to depict and disrupt power structures. She aggressively seeks the feminine expression of sexual self-determination and explores the boundaries of art and bourgeois morality].

Allure Art: paintings made by people having sex

quote [Imagine a primal erotic moment spilled out onto canvas in unmistakable tones, unique to you and your lover; patterns bursting with colour, telling the tale of a sexual journey that you shared together – immortalised forever.
ALLURE ART kits allow you to be the Dali of your dreams and create a masterpiece of your own making, all while enjoy the pleasure of each other’s bodies – a real expression of your love displayed in glorious strokes and colours.
Everyone should be able to express themselves and there’s no better way of doing so than by making love. Forget paint brushes and stencils, for couples looking to making lifelong memories while spicing up their sex lives, the allure of erotic art must not be resisted.
Once the dance has been done, the paint has dried and the creation has been hung on the wall, what remains will be an intimate moment will last forever].

Hand-drawn animations by Jake Fried

quote [Jake Fried (1984) began his artistic career as a painter, but as he went through the process of layering and modifying images, he realized what truly interested him was the way the images metamorphosed in the course of making a painting and he changed tracks to become an animator. In recent years his films have been widely shown internationally, including at the Tate Modern, Sundance Film Festival and on Adult Swim. Fried works with ink and white-out, sometimes adding gouache, collage and even coffee to generate hallucinatory vistas, modifying and shooting the images over and over to create mind-bending animations that evolve at a frenzied pace. He currently teaches at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Art Prints available at society6.com/jakefried]. More video work.

Handiedan‘s sculptural hand-cut collages

quote [Undisputed protagonists of Handiedan‘s sculptural hand-cut collages, her vintage pin-ups immediately recall the burlesque genre. However if we look into them further many sources of inspiration are revealed: the Neo-Classical and Victorian ages, the Parisian Belle Époque, up to the 1940’s and Post-War sexy imagery. But none of Handiedan‘s ‘models’ really existed. In fact each of them is composed through by assembling anatomical parts of different pre-existing images].

How to Make Me Come

Enter How to Make Me Come, a blog collecting women's essays about their experience with or frustration over orgasms — or lack thereof.
“How to Make Me Come” is now also a podcast! Hosted by Sylvia, the founder of HTMMC, it picks up where the blog leaves off, exploring issues linked to and inspired by the female orgasm.
...the next guy fucked around with my emotions and took sex from me. I mistook this for empowerment, but all it did was ruin my confidence. No orgasms for me. He would go down on me for 5 minutes with the sloppiest tongue and no direction and then would come up and say, "Did you come?” As if I were going to say, “Yes, I just did!! You’re amazing!!”

"Removed" by Eric Pickersgill

Eric Pickersgill removes smartphones and digital devices from everyday life portraits.
The project Removed aims to show our addiction to technology and hyper-connectivity removing smartphones and digital devices from portraits of everyday life.

quote [The joining of people to devices has been rapid and unalterable. The application of the personal device in daily life has made tasks take less time. Far away places and people feel closer than ever before. Despite the obvious benefits that these advances in technology have contributed to society, the social and physical implications are slowly revealing themselves. In similar ways that photography transformed the lived experience into the photographable, performable, and reproducible experience, personal devices are shifting behaviors while simultaneously blending into the landscape by taking form as being one with the body. This phantom limb is used as a way of signaling busyness and unapproachability to strangers while existing as an addictive force that promotes the splitting of attention between those who are physically with you and those who are not].

Enchanted Dolls by Marina Bychkova

quote [More than mere playthings, Enchanted Dolls are elegantly sculpted and articulated works of art. Strikingly nude, engraved or adorned in opulent sculptural costumes of precious metals, gemstones, and rare found objects, each doll intricately conveys an aspect of our humanity. Unique and delicate, their forms evoke a strong emotional response, haunting us with their vulnerability. All at once innocent and sexual, Enchanted Dolls depict highly stylized images of femininity, while at the same time reflecting on life’s playful naiveté].
“The reason I love making dolls is because it’s such a multidisciplinary art form. I’m not content working in just one medium such as painting or sculpture, and dolls offer me a very diverse and satisfying tactile experience. To create a doll I get to do it all: sculpture, industrial design, painting, engraving, mold-making, drawing, metalwork, fashion and jewelry design. I want it all, or nothing!” – Marina Bychkova
Marina Bychkova is a Russian-Canadian figurative artist and a founder of Enchanted Doll™- a luxury toy label of exquisite, porcelain dolls.

The Merrylin Cryptid Museum

This is the online archive of his unique collection of specimens. Creatures and artifacts thought to be nothing more than myth. It is a mystery that challenges our understanding of biology, chemistry and the very laws of physics. But this is no fairytale, for he was a scientist, and empirical evidence and rational thought hold sway here. There is a lot to see and read, so please take your time to peruse the website].
