D.P.F.: Art for Freedom

LINK quote [I wanted to make an art piece that represents each candidate because I thought an iconic portrait of them could symbolize and amplify the absurdity of their missions. I believe each of the candidates will guide this country to a future where everyone can be ridiculous and I should support none of them vigorously for the sake of my unborn children and my beloved dead pets. I have made art opposing this absurd world for several years, and making art of McCain, Clinton, and Obama, is like making art for freedom. I know I have an audience of young art fans and I'm delighted if I can encourage them to see how ridiculous politics in America have become].

Logo.Hallucination

LINK A project by Christophe Bruno. quote [Pattern recognition is a field in full expansion. It constitutes a key technology in the domains of safety, of the management of the rights, of marketing… « Logo.Hallucination » proposes to use technologies of recognition of images in order to detect subliminal forms of logos or emblems, hidden (generally involuntarily) in the visual environment or in the whole of the images of the Internet. The found images will be accessible in a weblog, proposing a comparison between the original on the one hand and, on the other hand, the brand and its logo].

Bush’s liebes-attacke

quote [Bush’s fehlgriff at angela merkel’s neck during the g8 summit spreads through the weblogs. Even boingboing writes about it. German’s bildzeitung describes it as “liebes attacke”. For me it looks more like mr. spock’s “vulcan nerve pinch”].

Perversion for Profit

A new wonder to download for free from Internet Archive! Perversion for Profit. The propaganda film produced by financier Charles Keating in 1965 attempts to link explicit portrayals of human sexuality to a Communist conspiracy and the subversion of American civilization. The movie illustrates its claims with still images taken from various soft core porn magazines, though with some portions of human anatomy obscured by colored rectangles.
